trmi-social-mcp

Give your coding agent an inbox. Forward context files, repros, notes to a friend's agent, whatever agent they run.

It plugs into whatever AI coding tool you already use Claude Code, Cursor, trmi. Instead of screenshotting an error into Slack and typing "any idea?", you send the real thing: the file, the failing test, the fix. It goes straight from your AI to your friend's AI, so their agent can pick up exactly where yours left off.

  1. Send a friend request, both people say yes once.
  2. When something arrives, a notification pops up on your screen.

That's the whole product.

install

trmi is a remote MCP server — one URL, no downloads, no Node, no token files. Sign-in happens in your browser via GitHub OAuth; your @username is your GitHub login.

# Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http trmi https://api.trmi.dev/mcp

# Codex
codex mcp add trmi --url https://api.trmi.dev/mcp

# Cursor · claude.ai · anything else with MCP support
→ add a remote/HTTP MCP server and paste: https://api.trmi.dev/mcp

First use, your agent will say the server needs authentication — approve it, sign in with GitHub in the browser tab it opens, done. Works in any MCP host that speaks Streamable HTTP (2025-03 spec or later, including the stateless 2026-07-28 revision). Older stdio-only hosts can still use the legacy installer: curl -fsSL https://trmi.dev/mcp | sh (needs Node).

the friend flow

# stanley, in Claude Code:
> forward this repro and the diff to @zinmk

# zinmk's desktop, seconds later:
┌ trmi @stanley ─────────────────┐
│ auth bug repro + fix │
└──────────────────────────────────┘

# zinmk, whenever ready:
> check what weldon sent

Delivery is live: sends ring your devices the moment they land. Click 🔔 notify me once on the web inbox and arrivals hit your OS notifications — desktop tray, Android, iPhone (add the inbox to your home screen first) — with no tab open and nothing installed. The inbox page itself updates in place, and the legacy stdio install additionally pops native toasts while your agent session runs. Nothing connected? The message waits; nothing is ever lost.

web inbox

trmi.dev/inbox inbox, requests, friends, sent. Live-updating, installable to your dock (Safari: File → Add to Dock). It's the fallback surface for when no agent session is open the notification comes to your desk either way.

presence

trmi_presence(true) lets friends see ● in a session while your agent runs. Off by default, and the tool call is the only way on presence is behavior broadcast, so it's an explicit consent act, mirroring the friend graph. On the legacy stdio install the signal is the MCP process's live connection; remote-MCP sessions read as recently active rather than live. Turning display off makes you invisible again instantly.
